Hari Raya Haji, Yummy Laksa Johor & more...

With eldest bro, SIL,Hubs, Jeremy & Iman. Front - from left, Aunty Mariam & Mom. We were invited for lunch, on the 31st. As usual Aunty Mariam prepared her specialty; the most delectable laksa johor. Yumm, I haven't savoured any in ages. Her lepat kacang was great too, with all the other side dishes of serunding etc.
Checkout the old broad amongst the 7-10 yr olds! She thoroughly enjoyed the game of "Life" too, by the looks of it!

While mama was at play abah was at work! Cute-pie Eleanor having her fill!

Fast growing boys-Jeremy, Johann & Muzhir.

Cute poses from Iman, Eleanor & Nazeem. Iman & Nazeem proved to be good babysitters though Nan was always close at hand to supervise! She's lurking in the background....

Yo, you got your grandmother's name a wee bit wrong ... it's Francisca (several instances of it spelled this way in the Rodway family ... how did Louis Rodway know this? Mere coincidence or did William Henry have a hand in this?). Nanny's full name was Francisca Barbara Rodway.

Paternal grandmother was Florence Helena Ware.

Was that how they all spelt it then? No one ever called her that, escept "Bibi" remember? melanaunised version of baby, perhaps. Gran's middle name always slips me! Thanks-will amend soonest!

I think that Francisca is just a Rodway family name and it's pronounced just the way it is spelled and not pronounced like Francesca.

I think that "Bibi" was just the adoption of the Indian term for European and Eurasian girls. Mrs. Brodie was also "Bibi" as are other Eurasians we know ... Bibi LaSalle, etc.

Thank goodness it didn't resurface for our generation ... Would we have been Bibi 1 and Bibi 2 ... ha,ha,ha ... perish the thought!
